Portrait of Mary Nisbet, Francois Gerard, 1803.
The paintings are laser printed and mounted to greyboard with wood glue. The edges are painted to match the prints and represent the painting process. They are then finished with matt acrylic varnish. I have applied various marks to the backs of the paintings, aged with pencil, paint, chalk and varnish.
Size: 2.1 x 2.5 x 0.15 cm
Varnish is far from indestructible. Please treat your paintings with common sense - don’t scratch, wet, or rub them, keep them out of direct sunlight, don’t expose them to excessive warmth. If you lean them with other pictures or pieces, be careful of sharp edges or points, move them every now and then, and store them separately in hot weather to prevent them sticking. If you ever need to repair the varnish, I have a how-to video on Instagram. I recommend storing them in the silicone paper sleeves I use to package them.
All paintings used are public domain; I have edited them in various ways so they translate to miniature.
